Read an article about the Schmidt Brothers who have started a company making a lower priced, but “just as good” knife set. These are pretty fabulous looking with teak handles. I have to say that at $415 for the set they aren’t exactly “cheap” but then again there are a ton of knives in that set. They do have some exclusive knives that they had made for West Elm that are in a way lower priced range. And then singles look like they have decent prices – around $20-30. I might have to try out a single before I opt for an entire set… Bread knife perhaps?
