Working on slowly moving all of my images to Flickr and came across this image. Gave me a little giggle…
Bonita and I were in Cannes for the film festival a few years back and staying at a hotel on la croisette. Next to the lift they had this sign that clearly depicts an elevator with people in it and the word Fantastique underneath.
We took this to mean that Fantastique = Elevator in French.
We went to another hotel and attempted to practise our outstanding command of the French language by asking where the “fantastique” is.
We were met by blank stares.
Stupid hotel named all of their elevators different french words…
Stupid us for not recognising that we were being taken for a ride…
